In 2002 I attended MES3 (Mathematics Education and Society, 3rd International Conference) in Helsingør, Denmark can can attest to the impressive work that the folks at Congress Consultants did to assure a smooth running conference. This was a 6 day conference with an international gathering of people from around the world. This was an opportunity for the sharing of ideas, perspectives and reflections concerning the social, political, cultural and ethical dimensions of mathematics education and mathematics education research in the world present societies.

Since then, over the past decade. I have attended numerous other conventions about mathematics education research.  But life evolves and now the type of conventions I attend deal with custom software application development within the mathematics / scientific research area. We work with organizations and businesses helping them customize their software to their unique needs. Off-the-shelf programs rarely integrate with each other, so we step in with customized applications to fill in the gaps or finish the software for them. Instead of "sharing of ideas, perspectives and reflections concerning the social, political, cultural and ethical dimensions of mathematics education and mathematics education research in the world present societies", I now share ideas and perspectives regarding the best method(s) of integrating programs and systems to make a company more efficient and production.
